Representatives toast to birthday of Village Munch Box

On the occasion of the first birthday of The Village Munch Box on Wentloog Road in Rumney Lorraine Barrett AM and Alun Michael MP stopped by to celebrate with its owners Peter and Joyce Whitfield. The coffee and sandwich shop has enjoyed a successful first year and is looking to build on this in the years to come.

Lorraine said, ‘It’s great visiting businesses across the constituency and we are lucky to have a lot of smaller community based shops as well as some of the multi-nationals. It’s lovely in Rumney to be able to pop in to places like the Munch Box, have a cup of tea and meet up with friends.”

Alun commented, ‘I think it’s important to support local businesses. There are some fantastic small businesses in our area and many have taken the brave decision to go it alone and set up a business which is crucial to the local economy. The Munch Box is a great place to come for a sandwich and a chat and I know Peter and Joyce are working hard to make the Munch Box a success.’
