'Sterling Youth Work' Across Cardiff South and Penarth

"I welcome the work of youth clubs and services provided in her constituency by places like Butetown Youth Pavillion and Penarth Youth Project, which is celebrating its 10th Anniversary this year.
"These facilities and clubs like them across Wales provide other important community services to residents and other local groups; they really are a vital asset in promoting community cohesion across the board.
"Our local youth organisations in Cardiff South and Penarth do a sterling job of helping our young people to make the most of their enthusiasm, commitment and talents.
"I congratulate youth workers throughout Wales for all the work they do for young people, in providing opportunities for young people who would otherwise be wandering the streets.
"There are over 20,000 youth workers in Walesand each and every one of them plays an invaluable role in our communities. Youth Work Week is a celebration of youth work, highlighting the achievements of youth workers and the full range of opportunities which are available through our local youth groups.
"Our teenagers often get a bad press, and the media tend to ignore the good things they do. I think that their contribution to society in Wales often goes unrecognised, and, in fact they are ten times more likely to be volunteering in our communities than regularly being antisocial in them."
