Praise for "Magical" Musical Evening
posted on 15/10/2008

Last Friday distinguished guests arrived for their supper with a ‘Diva’ to raise funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care.

Cardiff University’s Aberdare Hall was filled with the sound of music as guests sat down to enjoy a delicious  supper with live entertainment provided by classical singers Meriel Andrew, Ros Evans and Kate Woolveridge, and accompanied by Janice Ball.

Organised by Marie Curie Development Board the special musical evening was entitled ‘Diva Diva Diva’. Guests included Lorraine Barrett AM, Rt Hon Alun Michael MP, Jenny Randerson AM and Ruth Marks who is Wales’ Commissioner for Older People – the first post of it’s kind in the UK.

Commenting on the evening, former nurse and Marie Curie Patron, Lorraine Barrett AM said:

“What a  lovely night we had, and even better ,  it was all for a good cause. Guests were treated to an amazing display of classical musical talent.

“It is definitely something which I hope we can do again in the near future. It was great to see everyone having a good time for something so close to all our hearts. Special thanks need to go to Neil McFarlane, a member of the Development Board,  for organising the event.”

If you missed the ‘Diva Diva Diva’ evening, fear not – the Marie Curie Development Board has another big musical event planned for Friday 27th March – with special guests Linda Gail Lewis and the Class of ’58.
